Assist in maintaining proper repair of county buildings through remodeling, installation and repair of fixtures and building modifications for various offices. Assist in preparation of bid documents, project cost estimates and other administrative projects as requested. Communicate and work as a team member in a professional, respectful, positive and constructive manner. Prepare floors and install carpet, tile and other floor coverings. Remodel areas using drywall and plastering. Finish walls and hang wall coverings. Install paneling, shelves, cabinets, countertops, doors, trim, ceilings, glass, lighting fixtures and partitions. Perform demolition, masonry, rebuilding and prefabrication. Ensure safe use of power and hand tools. Supervises inmate labor as needed upon certification. Paint or stain rails, partitions, doors, walls, trim, furniture and fixtures. Design and build countertops, service counters and other fixtures and furnishings. Complete routine work orders as assigned. Solicit bids for major projects. Coordinate work with outside contractors. Assist with bid specification preparation, project cost estimates and project design work. Perform other duties as assigned including the responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician I, II, III or Custodial Worker.
