Provide daily coordination of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Program working with staff and community partners to develop plans, assess the public health system’s disaster response capacity and train staff and partners to carry out the objectives of the public health bioterrorism response plan. Assure goals and objectives of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bioterrorism grant are met. Assist any of the public health funded departments with record keeping a few hours each week. Work with county staff to develop the Reno County Public Health emergency preparedness and response plan. Collaborate with public health system partners within Reno County and the State of Kansas. Adhere to and administer policies and procedures consistent with those of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bioterrorism Preparedness Grant guidelines. Plan, develop and implement a continuous program of public health preparedness and training consistent with grant and department guidelines for health department staff, public health partners, and the Emergency Management Office. Promote, conduct or participate in educational conferences and workshops that promote or support the Public Health Preparedness program. Maintain adequate records and methods for systematic reporting of statistical data. Establish and maintain good working relations with local and statewide public health system partners and Health Department staff. Coordinate the Preparedness program on a daily basis and interpret the program to the community. Conduct public presentations about the Preparedness program. Fulfill preparation of annual progress reports and other documentation related to the Bioterrorism grant guidelines. Meet and confer with the Local Emergency Preparedness Committee on a regular basis and as needed.
