Incumbent is responsible for overseeing all general ledger activity, overseeing codification of revenues and expenditures as well as report development for the Health Department.

Essential Job Functions:
PLEASE CONTACT RENO COUNTY HUMAN RESOURCES FOR A COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION. In coordination with the county Financial Specialist, ensure the accurate and timely reporting of the overall financial transactions of the Health Department within the requirements of the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB_ and other financial regulatory bodies, in order to communicate an accurate and complete understanding of the Health Department’s past, present and future financial condition to the Health Department and county decision-makers and interested outside agencies (lenders, federal regulators, grantors, etc.). Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and presentation of the Health Department’s financial statements, both for external reporting and for internal management. Audits and ensures Health Department compliance with the regulations and requirements regarding federal and state granting/funding programs. Provides internal audits of accounts and processes, and provides external auditors with the assistance required for an accurate and successful audit of the Health Department’s financial records and processes. Champion the preparation of the annual budget(s) for each grant and the Health Department. Responsible for identifying, protecting and maximizing the safety, accuracy and productivity of each of the Health Department’s important financial accounts. Actively manage cash and cash reserves to ensure the Health Department’s ability to cover its financial obligations as they occur. Actively oversee accounts receivables in order to reduce late payments and bad debts. Actively oversee accounts payable and payroll in accordance with county and grant operations(s). Actively oversee inventories. Ensure reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Ensure Health Department pays all vendors in a timely and accurate fashion. Contribute to Quality Improvement initiatives and performance measurement systems. Coo0rdinate with other agencies and institutions, particularly in the development and process of special projects. Perform community engagement as needed on behalf of the agency. Occasionally provide direct services if needed in program areas. Represent the agency on occasions at local or state meetings or events. Keep Director informed appropriately, regarding unusual or significant mattes.
