Maintain accurate documentation records of all land descriptions and legal documents concerning the land ownership of Reno County manually and by computer. Assist public with inquiries and provide copies if requested. Assist the Deputy Registrar and the Registrar as needed. Handwrite information of recorded documents into corresponding land record books. Enter information of recorded documents into multiple records management computer software’s. Check all documents to ensure they are properly indexed, notarized, signed and contain proper land descriptions. Proof read the information of recorded documents that was entered by staff in the land record books and computer for accuracy. Scan documents into records imaging software. Prepare documents by the county clerk. Fulfill copy requests in a timely manner. Complete accurate cash drawer transactions with customers. Affix Register of Deed seal to original documents. Prepare each document to be mailed out to its recipient. Answer telephone inquiries regarding recorded documents, recording requirements, status of ownership of land according to the current tax roll and other related questions in a friendly and courteous manner. Prepare copies upon request. Maintain an organized work environment an d tidy desk space. Abide by all rules and regulations of the Open Records Act and Kansas statute laws. Turn public computers on at the start of every day and off at the end of every day. Update land record books with additional indexing pages and replace index tabs if needed. Fulfill copy request of plat maps on a large format copy machine.
